N° 5 CLAUDIE - My flower rocket
  • N° 5 CLAUDIE - My flower rocket

Claudie Haigneré became on the August 17, 1996, the first French woman to go into space during a sixteen-day flight aboard the Russian orbital station Mir. In October 2001, she returned to space and became the first European woman to stay on the ISS.

Flight engineer No. 1, Claudie is carrying out an experimental program in the fields of Earth observation, the study of the ionosphere, life sciences and material sciences.

Claudie Haigneré followed a completely exceptional course. The first French woman in space, the one we nicknamed “bac +19” lived a thousand lives.

After obtaining her baccalaureate at 15, she enrolled in medical school. Valedictorian at 16; after medical studies, she specialized in rheumatology and completed a doctoral thesis in neuroscience.

In 1985, she was selected as an astronaut candidate by the French Space Agency (CNES). Since then, she has played a major role in developing scientific applications of human spaceflight and in strengthening scientific relations with Russia.

Permanent member of the French Academy of Technologies, Ms. Haigneré is an Officer of the Legion of Honor and Knight of the National Order of Merit. In 1999, she joined the European Astronaut Corps of the European Space Agency.

She participated in two space missions with the Russians: Cassiopeia in August 1996 and Andromeda in October 2001.

The first woman to receive the qualification of commander of the return flight of a Soyuz vehicle (July 1999), she was responsible, during a return to Earth, for a Soyuz capsule and its crew.

What an immense joy for me to have been able to meet Madame Claudie Haigneré during the “Rêver Sans Frontières” charity evening organized by and for Aviation Sans Frontières this October 4, 2023 at the Grand Rex, and talk to her about this flower of space which is dedicated to him.

    • Conservation and supervision

Printed on Prestige Fine Art Paper in different finishes, your work will be delivered in a tube, protected with care and love, but also in silk paper. This is the best way to make it travel without deforming it. On delivery, unroll it gently to check that it has not suffered any indelicacy during the trip. Handle it with gloves, if possible and keep it in its tube in a dry and temperate place. Don't wait too long to frame it and offer it the joy of your eyes.

The Plexiglas / Dibond / Caisse Américiane prints do not need framing, you just have to put them down and will be delivered in flat cardboard packaging.

    • Scenarios

The ratios of the formats (sizes) of the photographs on display are to scale to help you imagine their display in a room. When you choose a size smaller than the default (mostly 80cm x 120cm), the visual adjusts.

The photos presenting the staging are not contractual: frames, glosses or possible reflections are purely fictitious to make the scenes aesthetic and harmonious as a whole. Only the ration size is real.

(PS No, we don't sell furniture either)

    • ABOUT THIS WORK

      Unmanipulated photograph

Photography that has not undergone any modification during post-processing: its realization refers to the combination of processes, techniques and materials that make it possible to capture a subject in still images.

The resulting image is as the camera displays it when shooting.

It is important to underline this, at a time when digital manipulation can be confusing.

All the photographs in this Shop were taken without post manipulation.

On some, if you click, you'll see additional behind-the-scenes views or the fun “saw this – made this” one. Don't hesitate to discover them 😊
